Northamptonshire Police look for stranger who offered teenage girls wallet full of cash


The police are searching for a man who has approached two teenage girls in Northamptonshire, claiming to have found a wallet full of cash.

Two separate incidents have been recorded in Northampton and Rothwell, but officers investigating them believe they are linked.

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said: “Reports have been received of a man approaching teenage girls on two separate occasions.

“On both of these, the man told the girl he had found a wallet full of cash.

“He then asked them what he should do with it and if they would like to take it.”

The incident in Northampton happened at about 11.15am on Monday in Lumbertubs Lane.

The second incident happened in Harrington Road, Rothwell at about 7.15pm on Thursday.

The man is described as having ginger hair and a beard, with a heavy build.

He was wearing a tracksuit and a jumper.

In light of the incidents, the police have warned children never to accept gifts from strangers or get into their cars.
