Northamptonshire County Cricket Club pays tribute to staunch supporter Maurice Kent
Tributes have been paid to the former archivist of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.
In a statement released on its website, the club said it had been saddened to “note the death of Maurice Kent”.
“Maurice and his wife Sheila have been staunch supporters of the club for many years,” the statement said.
“He served on the NCCC committee and was also the club’s official archivist, acquiring and displaying many items of Northamptonshire memorabilia and ensuring that important records – including minute books and scorebooks – were lodged safely in the Northamptonshire Records Office.
“The club is grateful for Maurice’s indefatigable support and great commitment, and we send our sincere condolences to Sheila and all his family and friends.”
The funeral will take place at 1.15pm on Wednesday June 1 at Queens Grove Methodist Church, Kettering Road, Northampton, and afterwards at the Counties Crematorium at Milton Malsor.
The family would like to invite all friends to join them afterwards at the Hevey Suite at the County Ground, from 2.45pm.
