Originally set up in 2010 by Army widow Nikki Scott after her husband, Corporal Lee Scott was killed in Afghanistan leaving behind her and their two young children; Kai and Brooke.

Scotty's Little Soldiers is dedicated to supporting the children of men and women killed whilst serving in the British Armed Forces. The charity provides opportunities for the children to smile again by offering holidays at it’s Scotty Lodges, gifts at difficult times of the year, special experiences and an amazing Christmas party.

The cadets in A Company identified that many of the children left behind are of similar age to themselves and think that this is a fantastic charity to donate towards.

Representatives from the charity visited the cadets during their training weekend on Sunday at Gibraltar Barracks, Northampton, to thank the cadets for their efforts and community spirit and to talk to them further about what the charity does before the cadets presented the cheque to Sophie Randle from the charity.

Vicky Randle, from Scotty’s Little Soldiers, said: “ We would like to thank you [LNR ACF] for your hard work and donation. Scotty’s Little Soldiers are not as well known as some of the other military charities so fund-raising can be difficult.

"We would like to ask that you tell just three people about us and ask them to do the same so that we can spread the work we do."
