The 15-year-old, who won gold in the 50m butterly earlier in the Games, shone as she took bronze in the S6 100m freestyle event.

Robinson swam a time of 1:14.43, which saw her finish ahead of Great Britain team-mate Ellie Simmonds.

It was a superb swim from the Northampton High School pupil and she will now return home with two medals to be hugely proud of.

She said: “I really, really didn’t expect to medal in the 100 free.

“I’m so happy because I’ve been able to go out and finish on a high.

“It was my last event and I just thought ‘I’m going to give this everything’.

“It’s going to be so weird going back to school with two medals. I’m only going to find out what it’s like when I get there.”
