A super slimmer from Northampton said friends used to joke she was carrying a “moped” round with her in body weight until she dropped to half the size in just nine months.
Kerry Cole took the decision to lose weight in January because she was fed up of being constantly exhausted and was experiencing pain in her hips.
And since then the 47-year-old has dropped from a size 26 to a size 10 since the start of 2016, shedding nine stone in the process.
Ms Cole says she had considered bariatric surgery, before deciding to hire a weight loss counsellor and taking on “cognitive behaviour therapy” to rid her of her food addiction.
However, she said the journey was not smooth, with a divorce, and taking on a mortgage single-handedly.
“It would have been so easy to fall off the wagon, but I knew I had to persist, for me,” she said.
Ms Cole said the behavioural therapy course she enrolled on with the firm LighterLife, taught her a lot about her mind.
“I had been eating the same volumes as my husband, and thinking ‘I fancy a massive pasta’ without thinking ‘do I really need a massive pasta?’.”
“My eating had all been in my head – I needed to listen to my body. Now I do what my stomach wants, not my mind.”
Her weight loss even enabled Ms Stone to spot a lump on her breast, which thankfully turned out to be benign.
Now, minus nine stone the customer service manager says she is enjoying life and is now on the lookout for a man again following her divorce.
