Northampton taxi driver robbed of takings following attack during which man stole cash

A taxi driver had all his takings stolen during the early hours of the morning after dropping three people off in Northampton.

The driver stopped to drop off a man and two women in Abington Park Crescent at about 4.30am yesterday (Sunday).

The women got out of the vehicle but the man stayed behind. A scuffle then took place and the offender stole cash before running off in the direction of Abington Park.

The offender is described as black, in his mid-twenties and about 5ft 6in tall. The women he was travelling with are in their early twenties, one white and one mixed-race.
