Unlimited girls street dance group win international qualifier

An all-girl under-12 troupe from Northampton will be representing England in a national street dance competition after coming second in a qualifying heat.

The group of eight, all aged between eight and 11, came second in Street Dance International’s (SDI) All England Street Dance qualifying competition.

The group, Unlimited, beat competition with a two and a half minute piece choreographed to a street dance music mix, winning them a place in SDI’s Team England 2014 who will be going to the international finals in Germany in September.

The girls, who train at Streets Ahead dance studios on Spring Boroughs, have been together 18 months.

Dance teacher, Laura Gill, said: “They did really well and I’m very proud of them.

“They are like a little family and they just really enjoy doing it.”

Whilst they start working on a new piece to present at the global competition - which could see up to 100 entries - the girls are planning fundraising events and performances to cover the cost of the trip.
