Northampton school now completely safe for kids, inspectors rule

A Northampton secondary school whose safeguarding was a worry to Ofsted has improved

Kingsthorpe College in Boughton Green Road was inspected earlier in the year but Ofsted were not completely happy with safeguarding arrangements but it has now been declared effective.

The school, whose principal in on long-term absence, was also assessed for leadership and governance, which the watchdog were also happy with.

On Safeguarding, the report says: "Those pupils the inspectors met said that they are happy at the school and that they feel safe.

"The pupils said that bullying is rare.Where it may occcur, thay are confident that staff would deal with it quickly and effectively."
