Northampton Saints fans will travel 2,258 miles supporting their team away from Franklin’s Gardens, a new survey has revealed on the day the Aviva Premiership season kicks off.
Tonight, Saints take on Worcester away from home tonight as they start the new campaign.
Research has revealed that the average fan will spend more than 42 hours on the road, spending about £429. That figure is calculated based on an average of £316 on fuel and £113 on parking.
Altogether, Aviva Premiership clubs and their supporters will travel a total of over 35,000 miles. Newcastle Falcons have the greatest distance to cover at 5,701 miles, and London Irish get the easiest ride with only 1,801 miles on the road.
The research was conducted by JustPark, the parking app, which lets rugby fans book parking spaces on local people’s driveways.
