Direct trains betwen Northampton and Euston will not be running over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Direct trains between Northampton and London Euston have been cancelled over the Easter holiday as part of major engineering works at Watford Junction.

Passengers are being warned of disruption over the four-day holiday period as specialist contractors upgrade signalling and infrastructure along a stretch of the West Coast Mainline.

The Network Rail programme of improvements will also see Orphanage Road bridge at Watford Junction Station replaced and repairs carried out to one of the Watford tunnels to the north of the station.

It means there will be no direct services between Northampton and London Euston from Good Friday (today) until Easter Monday, April 6.

Most services from Northampton to London Euston will see trains terminate at Hemel Hempstead, where bus replacement services will take passengers to Edgware and then on to Euston.

Full details and alternative routes are available on the National Rail Enquires website at www.nationalrail.co.uk/easter.
