Northampton pageant performer Abbey-Anne Gyles crowned Face of the World

A dream has become a reality for Northampton's Abbey-Anne Gyles who was double crowned at the Miss Earth Grand Finals at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham earlier this month.

Abbey-Anne Gyles, who represented Northamptonshire in the Miss Earth finals, was successfully crowned Miss Earth Fire and placed third to Miss Earth England 2016. Abbey-Anne also walked away with the title Face of the World 2016/2017 and will represent England 2017 at the internationals.

Abbey-Anne Gyles, who is a match day hostess at Leicester City Football Club, will now help promote and attend personal appearances in Northamptonshire to promote the three Rs (reduce, reuse and recycle) and environmental campaigns across England and participate in voluntary activities with an environmental theme such as beach clean-ups, awareness raising campaigns and street litter pickups.

Abbey-Anne said she was looking forward to working closely with her sponsor Mohammed at The Royal Bengal Indian Restaurant to help the business promote awareness for a clean and healthy environment within Northamptonshire.

Both Abbey-Anne and Mohammed The Royal Bengal indian restaurant have joined forces as they share the same aims as the Miss Earth event. They will be working closely together to support charities, including Beauties For A Cause UK and Girls4Trees which was founded by the the Miss Earth foundation.

At a recent charity evening held at the Royal Bengal indian restaurant Abbey-Anne managed to raise a staggering £564 with the help of her sponsor Mohammed. The charity night included a sit down meal, charity raffle all things “Eco” and live dance workshop with the Bollywood Bros.

Abbey-Anne said: “Im thrilled to have placed at the national competition with the title of Miss Earth Fire because it’s unique in terms of beauty pageants as it has a positive message of promoting environmental awareness across the world.

Abbey-Anne said she entered because she has an affinity with the Miss Earth pageant and their global mIssion.

“I have found the Miss Earth pageant to be so different from other pageants and I have an affinity with their global mission. I am a huge animal lover and I enjoy supporting Peta UK, WWF, FOE, MCS, Greenpeace and being an active global citizen.

“It is extremely satisfying on all levels to stand for animals and campaign for a brighter future.

“I would like to thank my sponsor Mohammed for his continued support my family and friends and the Miss Earth Pageant and Face of the World director, Louise Brown,” she asked.
