Northampton golfers chip in to help lifeboats

With just over half of 2015 gone, the branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in landlocked Northampton is heading for another record year, as donations have reached £21,000 already.

Jeff Sutherland-Kay, chair of the RNLI’s Northampton branch, said:“We have had a number of successful events in the last few weeks.

“Our annual golf day at Northampton Golf Club raised £2,590, the highest total in its 10 year history, with golfers coming from far and wide to play.

The majority of the Northampton branch’s fundraising is through bucket collections at superstores in and around the Northampton area.
