Christmas shopping, choir performances and street performers will be among the attractions of this year’s Frost Fair in Northampton.

The popular Frost Fair will return to the Market Square in Northampton on Sunday December 6.

Christmas shoppers from all over the county are expected to attend the event with its unique gift ideas and handmade decorations.

Opening from 11am to 5pm, the Frost Fair will host over 70 stalls from local traders, craftspeople and artists selling vintage crafts, collectibles and festive food. There will be choir performances, street performers and also a mulled cider bar to attract seasonal shoppers.

The Frost Fair is being organised in conjunction with the Magic Bean Café Fairytale Christmas who will be showcasing some sparkling entertainment and there’s also a chance to meet some favourite fairytale characters.

The Salvation Army band will also be playing festive favourites and the BBC will also be recording the carol service which will be performed around the Market Square Christmas tree from 4pm – 5pm.

Councillor for Community Engagement, Brandon Eldred, said: “The Frost Fair has always received positive feedback from the town’s shoppers and businesses and this year the Frost Fair aims to be better than ever. It will have its usual unique and vintage feel and should definitely get visitors into the Christmas spirit. The entertainment also promises to be festive and first class so we hope that everyone will join us on December 6 in the Market Square to enjoy this popular event and to support local craftspeople and traders.”
