Northampton-born artist records 41 million views on YouTube for new single...at the age of just 18

A Northampton-born teenager has received more than 41 million views on YoutTube for his new single and is dominating the Spotify and iTunes charts across the world.

Alan Walker, 18, has teamed up with vocalist Iselin Solheim to release, Faded.

A spokesman for AlanWalkerMusic said the track immediately became a huge hit in the Nordics, gaining popularity amoung gamers.

“Faded has made it to the Spotify UK Top 40 without asingle radio play. With a history of over 50 million views on YouTube and nearly 70 million streams on Spotify​, the Alan is set to become an international star.

“Alan will perform his first live show on February 27 at international sports competition X Games ​in Oslo, where the world’s best snowboarders and skiers will compete.

“Alan’s special 20­-minute set will include a unique performance of his hit, Faded, a showcase of his new material and will be aired internationally on global cable TV channel ESPN​. The event is an exclusive collaboration between the artist, Norwegian TV and ESPN ​­ a memorable, visually impressive performance that will mark the start of Alan’s 2016 tour, where he’ll perform at major festivals around the world,” he added.

“Alan is working on upcoming tracks while finishing his last year of high school in Norway. What started as a kid’s journey into the digital world, driven by a desire to create and explore, has developed into one of the most exciting producers the old continent has to offer in 2016.”

Speaking about his success at an early age, Alan said: “Music kind of just happened spontaneously a few years back. I found a track on Youtube I liked a lot – it inspired me and it made me start exploring producing myself.

“Everything started online with people, or rather nicknames, from around the world helping each other out. Now music is a big part of my life and what I want to pursue”.
