Northampton Academy teacher has his head shaved to raise money for Leukaemia Foundation

A teacher at Northampton Academy had his head shaved in front of pupils and staff to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Simon White, a maths teacher at the school, is raising money for charity in support of his niece who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

The head shaving took place during the lunch period and was completed by three different teacher.

Mr White, who had a target of raising £250, will be donating half the money to the Leukaemia Foundation and half to another charity chosen by the Student Council.

Michelle Orpin, Marketing and Communications Officer said: “Crowds of students gathered chanting “Mr White” and cheered as his hair was shaved off. “One student asked him how he felt and he replied ‘cold’ and the student suggested purchasing a hat. Mr White thanked everyone for their donations.”
