New Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas has agreed to take questions from club fans at an open forum in January, following a meeting with Northampton Town’s supporters’ trust yesterday.
It was the first time that members of the trust board and Mr Thomas had met since his completed purchase of the League Two side.
A trust statement said the meeting was “a positive one with constructive dialogue” on how the trust can work alongside the football club in the future.
It went on to say: “We are delighted that Kelvin has agreed in principal to attend an open forum with fans in January. More details will hopefully be made public in the coming weeks.”
The trust said Mr Thomas has “committed to meeting with us on a regular basis,” and said it will “look forward to further talks over the next few months on how the trust can work with Kelvin in the short, medium and long-term, in the best interests of the football club.”
Kelvin Thomas said: “It was great to finally be able to sit down with the supporters’ trust officially, and I felt it was a very positive meeting.
“It is important that we listen, take advice and gain knowledge from all of our fanbase as we continue to learn more about the club.
“There will be many initiatives we will be able to work with the Trust on, and it felt good that there seemed to be some common goals.”
