A company which already owns three popular nighttime venues in Northampton is to open a new pub-restaurant on Wellingborough Road compete with the “largest range of beers and ales in the county.”
Old Northampton Group (ONG) has already invested £6 million in the town with its three venues Sazerac Bar, Old House and the Department of Meat and Social Affairs.
Now the company is set to open another nightspot on Wellingborough Road as part of a £3 million investment in the street,
The Lighthouse, due to open in the former Allen Lyman office supplies between 213 and 215 Wellingborough Road, is set to feature a 100-seater restaurant and the largest range of beers and ales in the county.
The new venue, which was awarded planning permission last year, is to create around 30 jobs and could be ready as soon as spring this year.
A spokesman for ONG said; “I would challenge you to find another local operator who has invested as much as ONG has over the past six years into the town and encouraging people to come back to the town at night creating exciting, innovative and safe environments for the local community.”
The firm is also planning to create two new retail units and six “purpose built flats with a high end finish” only a few doors away from the new pub in the former Platinum Motors building on Wellingborough Road.
Further to that ONG is looking at developing two other sites, which it will reveal at a later date and has also recently gained planning permission to extend Sazerac Bar to double the club room capacity and create a roof garden.
