TWO new restaurants at Sixfields are due to open in 2015, on land in the Cineworld car park.
Construction will start on the branches of Nando’s and Prezzo next year, and will take about 12 months to complete.
The original plan was for four restaurants, but this has since been reduced to two. The Chron first reported on the plans last August.
Prezzo chief executive, Jonathan Kaye, said: “We can confirm that we will be opening a Prezzo at Sixfields. We are looking forward to opening and believe Prezzo will be a great addition to the eating out scene in the area.
“At present there is no opening date.”
Opposition councillor Brendan Glynane (Lib, Delapre and Briar Hill), said: “I would say this is right for that particular area. However, the bigger picture is the town centre.”
The plans will create 25 full-time and 20 part-time jobs between both sites.
