New jobs on offer as motorway service station near Northampton creates new store

A new Spar store is opening at a motorway service station near Northampton, creating 20 new jobs.

Roadchef is opening the store at the service station near Northampton on the M1 and A43. This will be the second Roadchef site to host a Spar store.

A spokesman said: “The opening has created 20 new jobs at the site, with team members able to build on their skills and knowledge through the convenience store’s ongoing training and development programmes.

“Together with other team members at the site, the 20-strong SPAR team will be responsible for serving more than 10,000 customers that pass through the Northampton MSA every day.”

Simon Turl, CEO of Roadchef, said: “Following the successful launch of our trial store at Strensham, we’re delighted to announce the opening of our second SPAR at our Northampton North site.

“As one of our key MSA’s in the UK, we see Northampton as the perfect place to develop our portfolio of convenience store outlets. We pride ourselves on the opportunities we bring to the local community and we’re pleased to bring this new SPAR and 20 new jobs to the area.”
