On Monday the Daventry UTC board of governors announced Russell Ball will take over in an interim role from former principal David Edmondson who has led the school from when it was first created.

Chairman of the Daventry UTC board of governors, Professor Nick Petford, said: “The Daventry UTC board of governors is delighted that the college has been providing an excellent standard of education to children in Daventry and the surrounding area as demonstrated in the rates of progress which the pupils have demonstrated in the 2015 public examinations and in assessments undertaken so far this academic year.

“After leading the college since its launch in 2013, David Edmondson has asked to be released from his role as principal in order to be able to pursue new opportunities. The Daventry UTC board of governors wish David every success for the future.”
