More than 130 jobs have been created at a new housing development for the over 70s in Northampton.

Work started in November 2014 on the new homes in Welford Road, and led to more than 70 local tradesman jobs, including bricklayers, scaffolders and ground workers, according to developers McCarthy and Stone.

A further 60 jobs in areas such as plumbing, electrics and tiling will follow, a spokesman said.

Wardington Court includes 58 one and two bedroom apartments.
