A five kilometre run where all the competitors will be covered in UV neon glow powder is set to be held in Northampton on Saturday.
Participants in the Blacklight Run are encouraged to wear white T-shirts and will get ‘glowed’ by th especial lights during the race.
The UV powder will show up in special ‘Blacklight Zones’, which are associated with a designated colour: green, pink, and orange.
At the finish line, runners receive a free Blacklight Run Glow Packet so they will be able to create some colourful photographs.
The race starts un Edgar Mobbs Way at 6pm but entry will be open from 3pm. Any entries before Thursday cost £25, while those who sign up on the day will have to pay £40. The charity partner for the event is Northampton-based Alfie’s Cause.
A Blacklight run spokesman said: “By the end, you will look like you fell into a Ghostbusters movie and covered with different-coloured Blacklight Run UV Neon Glow Powder. This is the first of its kind at night and is quickly sweeping the nation.”
Each participant will receive a commemorative white Blacklight Run t-shirt, glow in the dark tattoo, race bib, a glow pack given admission to an after party.
