LNT Care Developments has received planning application proposals from Northampton Borough Council Planning Committee this week to go-ahead a facility for those aged 65 and over.

Construction work for the home began on site in November, which will be owned and operated by Oakdale Care Group, with a predicted completion date for September 2017.

Christine Cooper, Project Director at LNT Care Developments, said: “We are delighted to be building such a fantastic care home for Oakdale Care Group. It is also great news for Duston creating 50 jobs in the local area and providing a high-quality resource for elderly people in the local community.

“The facility will incorporate intelligent dementia design and be eco-friendly by benefitting from ground source heat pumps, solar thermal panels and LED lighting keeping utility costs low.”

The site is set to represent an excellent opportunity for a new care facility at the gateway to the heart of the developing community on the former British Timken site.

Once complete, the home will be a much-needed community facility contributing towards employment and integrating with the nearby local facilities of shops, churches and schools.

It is set to provide outstanding accommodation with fully en-suite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, and state-of-the-art amenities and gardens.

The home is designed to best enable the delivery of quality care and provide a positive lifestyle choice for local people who may be frail, elderly or living with dementia.

Chris Babington, Finance Director at Oakdale, said: “We are proud at Oakdale Care Group to be able to deliver these outstanding luxury homes to the local residents of Duston in September of next year.

“Our partners at LNT have helped us create truly magnificent homes that will allow us to provide the exceptional care and services that we want all of our residents to experience and benefit from.
