The boss of a TV signal repair company said many people in the West Hunsbury area of Northampton were getting poor reception due to new 4G masts in the area. when they did not need to.

Several Chron readers have been experiencing Freeview signal issues since the superfast mobile internet masts were installed in the West Hunsbury area last year.

One reader, Kira Evans, said: “Constant TV and wi-fi interference, fed up that we’re paying for a service we’re hardly getting.

Ria Farmer said: “Given up trying to watch telly this week.”

But Ben Roome, the chief executive of the firm, at800, which was set up by mobile phone companies to unscramble television signals disrupted by the new 4G masts, said people may not be aware they can get their disrupted signal fixed for free.

He said: “If you have got interference, we can send an engineer to fix any problems caused by the new mast.”

He said at800 could provide homes with aerial filters which will cure the reception issues.

He added that the company had already helped at 1,000 homes in the Northampton area.
