'˜My terrified 12-year-old daughter escaped from masked man on her roller skates', says Northampton mum

A bandana-wearing stranger who chased a 12-year-old girl in Northampton was hiding behind a car before he ran after her, her mum said.

The incident happened in Narrow Boat Lane, Pineham Locks, near Hunsbury Meadows, at about 4pm on Sunday.

A man with a bandana covering his face below his eyes ran after a girl who was roller skating in the street.

The man stopped chasing her when he spotted other members of the public, at which point he ran off down Banbury Lane.

The girl’s mum, who the Chron has decided not to name, said: “She was on roller skates and going downhill so that helped her get away.

“When she got home she was shaking and crying. She was very upset and I have taken her to school and picked her up.”

The man is described as white, aged between 18 and 20, around 5ft 8ins with a skinny build, short, dark-blonde hair and an eyebrow piercing to his left eyebrow. He was wearing a black hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms and black trainers or shoes.
