Mum's pride after son with dwarfism, aged 10, completes Northampton triathlon
Bruce Dee, aged 10, who has dwarfism, completed a 50-metre swim, an 800-metre bike ride and a 400-metre run at the Duston School event.
Although he took part in the Just Racing event for eight-year-olds, he was competing against able-bodied children.

Hide AdAfterwards, Bruce said: “I was exhausted and proud because I was the only little person there.”
His mum, Mo, said: “I don’t know of any other dwarf athlete like Bruce who has completed a triathlon.
“I was so proud. I don’t get upset but his other family and his friends were a bit teary.”
Bruce, who lives in Desborough, goes to Cottingham Primary School.

Hide AdMrs Dee said: “I just want this to raise awareness that children with dwarfism are just like anyone else.”
Bruce is an all-round sportsman and takes part in shot-put, discus, football and basketball.
He aims to go to the World Games in Canada next year.
Mrs Dee said: “This has been great for Bruce but to represent his country would be fantastic.”
