Two men tried to rob a Corby shop but fled empty-handed after they were unable to get into the building.

The men approached the shop in George Street on a high-powered black motorbike some time between 12.15am and 12.25am on Thursday, June 25, just as staff were closing up.

The passenger jumped off the bike and tried to force his way into the building but was unable to get in.

He was then joined by the man who had been riding the bike and the staff inside the shop were threatened.

Despite the threats, the men did not get into the shop and rode away empty-handed.

The men were both white and were wearing black motorbike helmets and black jackets.

The first man was aged between 16 and 19, about 5ft 3in and was wearing black tracksuit bottoms.

The second man was about 20 years old, about 5ft 7in and slim.

Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
