A man was attacked and kicked several times in the head by two strangers as he walked to work in Northampton.

The 54-year-old was walking along Booth Lane North at about 6.20pm on Saturday, January 31, when he realised he was being followed by two men.

As he got to the junction with Kendal Close, the two men attacked him, repeatedly punching him in the head.

They then pulled his coat over his head and knocked him to the floor, kicking him in the head while he lay on the ground.

It is believed the two men may have been seen by a man on a moped and the driver of a white VW Beetle.

Both of the attackers were white, aged about 16 and wore dark scarfs, hooded jackets and dark trousers.

One of them was about 5ft 10ins while the other was about 6ft 2ins.

They stole two mobile phones from the man, a black Nokia and a white Samsung Galaxy Fame.

Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
