Missing patient from Northampton hospital with ‘serious’ mental health issues could be a danger to the public

It is believed that a man with ‘serious mental health issues’ who went missing from St Andrew’s Hospital in Northampton yesterday could be a danger to the public.

David Burke, 37, left the hospital in Billing Road, yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

He absconded with another patient, Dale Akinola, who was this evening found in Birmingham and taken into custody.

Police have said that Mr Burke has serious mental health issues and could represent a danger to the public.

It is believed that he is likely to be in the West Midlands area, possibly Birmingham or Coventry, and police are appealing for the public’s help in finding him.

Mr Burke has been described by police as white, 5ft 7in, of stocky build, with short brown untidy hair, and stubble. When last seen he was wearing a yellow and black horizontal yellow t-shirt and blue tracksuit bottoms with yellow stripes down the side.

If anyone knows of Mr Burke’s whereabouts they are advised not to approach him but to call police immediately.
