Miles of queues on the M1 in Northampton after multi-vehicle crash

Emergency services are dealing with the incident.

A multi-vehicle incident is causing long delays on the M1 this evening.

The incident happened shortly after 4pm today (November 28) as Highways East Midlands officers have been on the scene since around 4.15pm.

Police, the fire service and paramedics have also been in attendance.

AA Traffic is reporting that two lanes are closed on the northbound carriageway between Junction 14 for the A509 and Junction 15A for the A43.

More than three and a half miles of traffic has built up as emergency services deal with the incident.

There are no further details as yet on the nature of the incident or injuries suffered.
