Mears Ashby Primary pupils run their Race For Life

Pupils at Mears Ashby School took part in a Race for Life around their village to raise money for good causes.

Organised by Mrs Anslow and FOMAS (friends of Mears Ashby School) everyone from the youngest pupils in KS1 ran 1.5km with the older children in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 running 3 km around the cricket grounds in the village.

Participating for the first time in the race the children raised £3235.83.

One parent said: “ It was a lovely event and the kids were really excited about it.”

FOMAS group help fundraise for the school but also help with events to raise money for other local and national charities.
