Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini goes shopping for new shoes in Northampton

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini took time out from his side's quest for a Champions league place by going shopping for a new pair of shoes today in Northampton.

The style-conscious Italian, famed for his blue and white City scarf, popped into the Trickers factory shop in St Michael's Road this afternoon to get his hands on a pair of the firm's award-winning designs.

Mancini, who replaced Mark Hughes at Eastlands earlier this season, paid a flying visit before returning to Manchester to prepare his players for tomorrow night's crunch Premier league encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.
