Man who attempted to rob a building society in Northampton sought by police

Security camera stills of a man believed to have carried out an attempted robbery at a Northampton building society have been released by police.

Police want to trace this man in relation to an attempted robbery at a Northampton building society.

The incident happened at about 1.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, 14 December) at the Weedon Road branch of Nationwide in St James, when a man allegedly threatened one of the counter staff and a customer with a knife.

Staff immediately activated shutters to the counter and the suspect is believed to have walked off in the direction of Harlestone Road.

Officers are appealing to the man pictured above, or anybody who knows him, to call police on 101.
