A robber threatened a passer by with a knife when the man refused to buy an iPhone 6 off him in Northampton on Monday.

The robbery happened between 2.20pm and 4pm on Monday (December 15) when the victim was approached by a stranger who asked him if he wanted to buy an iPhone 6 on Derby Road in Abington.

A police spokesperson said that the victim invited the man to sit in his car but, after looking at the phone, the victim said he did not want to buy it.

“At this point, the man became aggressive and produced a knife which he waved in front of the victim’s face and demanded money.” The spokesperson said. “The victim handed over cash and the offender ran off.”

The offender is described as white, Eastern European, aged in his 40s, around 5ft 6in, with a medium build. He had brown hair, brown eyes and ‘hollow cheeks’, police say.
