Man threatened with a knife and punched by burglars who pushed their way into his Northampton home and stole cash

A man opened his door to his house in Northampton to find two men on the doorstep who pushed their way inside.

A 29-year-old man returned home from work yesterday (Monday) and a few minutes later there was a knock at the front door of the property in Brookside Meadows, Northampton.

The man opened the door and two men pushed their way inside, threatening the victim with a knife.

The offenders searched the property and made off with a large sum of money.

The victim received cuts and bruises to his face after being punched during the incident.

Both offenders were men aged in their late 20s with Birmingham accents, about 6ft and of average build. One was of mixed race and wore a blue hooded top and blue trousers.

The second offender wore a black hooded top and black trousers.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information regarding it.
