Man steals items from Daventry building site then drives off while being chased

A man stole a number of items from a Daventry compound before being chased by a security officer.

The incident happened on Saturday, March 25 between 2.30pm and 3pm, when a white Ford Transit van, registration number X582NEN, was driven into a compound used to store building materials on the Monksmoor development on Welton Lane.

The thief got out of the vehicle and stole the items before being caught by a security officer who tried unsuccessfully to stop the vehicle, which was also seen acting suspiciously on the Harlestone Manor development on the outskirts of Northampton at about 12.40pm, when a man from the vehicle was seen loitering.

The offender is described as white and was wearing a high-vis bomber jacket, blue trousers and a baseball cap.
