Man stabbed in stomach outside Millennium Pizza in Northampton town centre

A 21-year-old man was stabbed in the stomach during an incident outside a takeaway restaurant in Northampton town centre.

The victim was approached by a man outside Millennium Pizza, in Gold Street at about 5am on Easter Monday.

The man stabbed him and then ran off. The victim chased him along Gold Street, onto Kingswell Street, around the back of Dominos pizza and to the St Peter’s Way roundabout where he stopped and called for help. The attacker was seen running towards Far Cotton.

The attacker is described as a black or mixed race man, in his early 20s, of muscular build, with dark hair and about 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall. He was wearing a grey tracksuit or blue hooded top.

A police spokesman said the victim was taken to hospital for treatment after the incident and is in a stable condition.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or have any information regarding it.
