Man remanded in custody over fire at flat where Northampton hairdresser’s body was found

A man charged with arson with intent to endanger life has appeared in court this morning following the death of hairdresser Ashley Gillard.

Thomas White, 25, of Bibury Close, Wellingborough, who appeared at Aylesbury Crown Court, has also been charged with two counts of taking a vehicle without consent – a forklift truck and a BMW car.

He appeared in court via video link from Woodhill Prison.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at Aylesbury Crown Court on October 2.

The body of Mr Gillard, 31, was found following a fire in a flat in Trevithick Court, in Wolverton on Monday, June 8.
