Man pulled knife during attempted robbery in Northampton

A knife was pulled during an attempted robbery in a Northampton walkway.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident between Fullingdale Road, Headlands, and Broadmead Avenue, Abington, between 8.30pm and 8.50pm on Saturday, March 8.

The victim and two friends were heading along the walkway when the victim took out his mobile phone to look at a text message.

A white man, around 5ft 8 inches, was walking towards him and attempted to take the phone.

The victim defended himself and the phone fell to the floor and smashed.

The offender then pulled a knife from his pocket although no threats were made.

The victim and his friends ran off towards Fullingdale Road.

The offender was wearing a black hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
