Man charged with the murder of India Chipchase

Edward Tenniswood, 51, of Stanley Road, Northampton, has been charged with the murder of India Chipchase, 20.

A woman’s body was found by officers in Stanley Road on Sunday afternoon after India was reported missing by her family. She was last seen in Bridge Street in Northampton town centre at about 1.15am on Saturday, 30 January.

A forensic post-mortem examination conducted by a Home Office Pathologist at Leicester Royal Infirmary yesterday, Monday, concluded that India died as a result of pressure to the neck.

Mr Tenniswood will appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court this morning.
