A man was assaulted in Duston after confronting a man who was encouraging his dog to attack a cat.

The offender was walking a brown Springer Spaniel dog, accompanied by a woman in Einstein Crescent, Duston.

He was confronted by a resident after he tried to get his dog to attack a cat, and became verbally aggressive, and then pushed the victim hard in the chest/.

The offender is described as white with a tan, aged about 25, 5ft 10in, tanned with short dark hair, of average build and wearing a two-piece suit and blue shirt. He was accompanied by a woman who is described white, about 20, slim build, 5ft 6in tall with long straight dark-brown hair. She was wearing dark jeans and a dark top.

The incident happened on Tuesday between 8pm and 8.45pm.
