Love Park Week launches in Northampton to celebrate town's green spaces
Love Parks Week starts to today and fun activities for all the family are being held at parks throughout the town.
Events include:
* Saturday 16 July (1-4pm) at Eastfield Park: Bouncy castle, picnic and opening of new play area

Hide Ad* Sunday 17 July (2-5pm) at Abington Park Bandstand: Bands in the Park – ‘Abington Wind Band’
* Thursday 21 July (12-4pm) at Bradlaugh Fields Barn: Mile Walk with certificate; Scavenger hunt, mini-beasts activities, arts and crafts, fun and games; Teddy bear picnic with prize for bebest-dressed teddy
Friday 22 July (12-2pm) at Abington Park: Laughter workshop, yoga session, exercise class
Friday 22 July (1-5pm) at Abington Park Museum: A themed scavenger hunt (‘The Gruffalo’) with hands-on activities

All events are free to attend, just remember to bring something to eat and drink if you’re coming to one of the picnics.
Councillor Anna King, cabinet member for community engagement, said: “Love Parks Week is a great opportunity to celebrate and raise awareness of the town’s parks and green, open spaces.
“We’re very proud of our parks and want residents and visitors to be proud of them too, so I urge you to respect the parks, leave them clean and to report any instances of littering, graffiti or other unsightly mess.
