Legendary Cobblers centre-half John Kurila has died

Northampton Town Football Club legend John Kurila has passed away aged 76.

The former Cobblers player, who made 108 appearances for the team in The Football League has passed away, Northampton Town has confirmed this morning (March 6).

The legendary centre-half was the rock of the team that was the only Northampton side to play in the top flight of English football.

A spokesman for Northampton Town said: "We are really sorry to learn of the passing of former player John Kurila. Our deepest sympathies are extended to John's friends and family."
