'Leather at Lunchtime' lecture about modern fashion at Northampton's Grosvenor Centre

A free lecture on leather's place in modern fashion is being held at the home of the world's largest leather collection in Northampton.

The National Leather Collection, based in the Grosvenor Centre, is welcoming world-famous designer Bill Amberg to the town on Thursday for the "Leather at Lunchtime" talk.

The event runs from noon to 2pm on November 23 and will also feature leathercrafting workshops, society stalls and refreshments. Entry is free.

The National Leather Collection is made up of 6,000 artefacts and tells the story of leather from prehistory to present day.

It comes as part of the 2017 "Being Human Festival" run by the University of London as a celebration of arts and humanities.
