The management of the Queen Adelaide pub in Kingsthorpe village have renewed their efforts to sell the leasehold of the pub.

Enterprise Inns will retain its stake in the Manor Road pub, but a new management team is being sought to run it in future.

Agent Christie + Co is seeking offers of £85,000 for the leasehold interest.

Landlord Paul Barton said his family was starting to outgrow their living space and he and wife Krystyna were looking for a new pub.

He said: “It’s not because we aren’t doing good business; the opposite in fact.

“The food side of things is going well, but we want somewhere we can expand that side of things. We have three kids now and two bedrooms, so you do the maths on that one.”

Mr Barton said he believed any new leaseholder would want to retain the reputation of being a food and rugby pub and assured regulars the current bar staff were likely to remain.

The Queen Adelaide boasts a recently refurbished bar, TV sofa area and dining room.

The first floor contains a two-bedroom, self-contained apartment with a kitchen/dining room and lounge.

Paul Reilly, of Christie + Co, who is handling the sale, said “The business has been operated by our clients for around 11 years and they have built up a very strong, local following ideal for keen rugby and other sports fans. Great quality pub grub is currently served on a limited basis so new owners would definitely benefit from expanding the food offering.”
