Thieves have carried out another overnight raid at a primary school in Northampton, stealing seven laptops.

A burglary took place at the Arbours Primary School, St Gregory’s Road on Monday night after thieves used a stool from the playground to smash a window of the school.

The burglars then managed to steal seven laptops, despite the fact they were locked away in a cupboard in a room that was also locked.

Headteacher Kat Johnston said part of the playground and the ICT room had been closed off to pupils due to the mess created by the thieves.

Ms Johnston said: “We are reviewing our security and are taking all the precautions we can.

“We have thought about getting CCTV cameras installed, but the money for that would not be budgeted for.”

Witnesses to the burglary or anyone with information can call Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
