Knife-wielding pair try to rob Northampton man of pet dog

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Brampton Valley Way, between Spratton and the Brampton Halt pub.

The incident happened on Wednesday, January 31, between 4.20pm and 4.40pm when a man was walking his dog along Brampton Valley Way, and was approached by two men on a mountain bike. One of the men got off the bike, threatened the man with a Stanley knife and demanded he hand over his dog.

The dog-owner managed to defend himself and the would-be robbers then rode off in the direction of Spratton.

The offenders are described as two white men, aged 18-20, both of skinny build, wearing dark hoodies and riding one mountain bike together.
