Kingsthorpe College is celebrating ‘exceptional’ A level and AS level results.
A total of 23 per cent of year 12 students have achieved the top A*-B grades - a record for the college.
Individual successes include Marco Clark who achieved A grades in Maths and Physics and two B’s in double IT.
Two thirds of students who took photography and Art achieved A- B grades with Karagh Byrne excelling by achieving A’s in both subjects, as well as a C in ICT. Samuel Gilkes achieved a distinction in his PE, whilst also gaining an A grade in Business and C in Biology.
Year 13 students have also increased the number of A*-B grades further with 28 per cent of students now achieving the highest grades possible.
Some notable individual A level results include:
Louisa Clarke, who achieved A*’s and A’s in Geography, Biology and General Studies, and a B in English Literature. She goes on to study Geography at
Birmingham University, where she will receive a yearly scholarship in recognition of her extremely high grades.
Paige Ostler achieved A*’s in Art and Photography and a pass in PE, and will go on to study Art at Northampton University.
Megan Rutter achieved A*’s and A’s in Travel and Tourism, Geography and General Studies and a B in English and fulfills her dream of studying Geography at Coventry University.
Maddie Wanford achieved A*’s and A’s in Sociology, History and General Studies and a B in English Literature and will attend Warwick University to study History.
Other noticeable achievements included Jake Grant and Aaron Lee who achieved double distinction star and double distinction in PE.
