The children and staff at Kiddi Caru’s Northampton day nursery supported the Snowflake Appeal 2014 run by Home-Start –with a week of snowflake themed fundraising fun.
As well as baking snowflake biscuits, the children made snowflake snow globes, snowflake sun catchers and created snowflake shapes using mixed colours and textures.
The Snowflake Appeal, which runs until January 31, is fronted by TV’’s Kirstie Allsop and was launched by Home-Start last year. Funds raised by the Snowflake Appeal help to ensure that Home-Start’s volunteers based at 300 centres around the UK have the training and support they need to continue to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children.
Trina Frost, nursery manager, said: “”We are delighted to be supporting this year’s Snowflake Appeal and the children really enjoyed having a whole week of Snowflake themed fun.
“Not only does the campaign raise funds for an extremely worthy cause, but also Home-Start chose this particular theme to emphasise how totally unique and in need of nurturing every child is a philosophy with which we wholeheartedly agree.”
