Global Pharma Magazine wanted to recognise Grangefield Care Home, in Northampton Road, Earls Barton, in their Social Care Awards 2017 but could not focus in on a category.

Instead, they created a new award, the 'Best Care Home in Northamptonshire' award, just so they could give it to them.

Nikul Odedra, owner of Grangefield Care Home, said: "We are over the moon to be included as a winner alongside such prestigious companies from around the world. We may be small but we have a big heart."

The pampered pensioners of Grangefield Care Home are treated to chiropody, massage therapy, hairdressing and even have their own in-house pub - the Resident's Arms.

Mr Odedra said: "We are different from other care homes in that we try and make each and every day special for our residents. We provide lots of exciting activities, regular events and outings and home made cakes, all served up by an amazing team of carers who genuinely go out of their way to make residents happy. We also spend a considerable amount of time and effort seeking feedback from both our residents and their relatives, which we use to help improve our service."
